Terms of Use

Last updated 13 October 2026 · Second Half Software LLC

The short version

This summary is for convenience and is not part of the terms. The full text below is what applies.

01 These terms

These terms are an agreement between you and Second Half Software LLC (“we”, “us”), a Washington State company, for your use of the Trading Alarm Clock app, our server, and this website (together, “the app”). By signing in, or by installing or using the app, you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.

While you follow these terms, we give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the app on phones you own or control, for your own use. The app is licensed to you, not sold; the app, our server and this website belong to us, and we keep every right in them that these terms do not give you. If you send us a suggestion, we may use it without owing you anything.

You must be at least 18, or the age of majority where you live if that is older, to use the app.

Our Privacy Policy says what the app stores and what it never collects.

02 What the app is

The app wakes you. You set a wake window; an alert from your own trading platform can wake you early inside it, and a system alarm on your phone wakes you at your final time.

  • It is not financial advice. We do not recommend trades, and nothing in the app is investment, financial, legal or tax advice. Every trading decision is yours.
  • It does not handle market data. Your platform decides when your alert fires, on its own data. We receive the alert and wake you. We do not check, and are not responsible for, whether an alert was correct, on time, or sent at all.
  • It does not place, change or close trades.

03 Your account and webhook

You sign in with your phone’s own sign-in service. Your personal webhook URL works like a password: anyone who has it can wake you. Keep it private, and regenerate it in the app if it may have been shared. You are responsible for what is sent to it.

04 The subscription

The final wake is free. Early wakes are part of an optional yearly subscription, sold and billed by your phone’s app store — Apple’s App Store or Google Play — at the price shown in the app before you buy.

  • It renews each year until you cancel. Cancel in your app store’s subscription settings — on an iPhone, Settings › Apple Account › Subscriptions; on an Android phone, Google Play › Subscriptions — at least a day before the period ends.
  • A free trial, when offered, becomes a paid subscription at the end of the trial unless you cancel first.
  • Payments and refunds are handled by your app store under its own terms.
  • Deleting your account does not cancel a subscription; cancel it with your app store.

05 What a wake depends on

The final wake is an alarm set on your phone itself, through the phone’s own alarm system. On an iPhone the phone rings it. On an Android phone the phone starts the app at your final time, and the app rings it. An early wake travels from your trading platform, through our server, to your phone, where it rings as an alarm. We design both so that a wake arrives, but we do not promise that one will reach you in every circumstance, because a wake depends on things outside our control:

  • your phone — its battery, its alarm and ringer volume, the mute switch, Focus and Do Not Disturb, the alarm and notification permissions, battery-saving and background limits (including ones the phone’s maker adds), its operating system, and whether it has been restarted and not yet unlocked;
  • your network, and the push services run by Apple and Google, which deliver an early wake on a best-effort basis and can delay or drop a message;
  • your trading platform sending the alert, sending it on time, and being set up by you to call your webhook;
  • our own server and the companies that host it, which may be unavailable from time to time.

We are not responsible for failures, delays or interruptions caused by services we do not run — including Apple, Google, your trading platform, your network provider and the companies that host our server.

An early wake reaches your phone as a push message, and it can ring only if that message arrives and your phone lets it ring. A phone can be set in ways that quieten or stop it: a low ringer or alarm volume, Do Not Disturb with alarms muted, or the notification or alarm permission switched off. On an iPhone with the Alarms permission off, neither wake rings, nothing is sent in its place, and the app switches your alarm off. When an alarm cannot ring for another reason, an early wake may arrive only as a notification, which the mute switch, a Focus or Do Not Disturb can silence. The app tells you when it can see something that would stop a wake. Read those warnings and act on them.

Trading carries a substantial risk of loss. The app is a convenience for waking you. It is not a risk-management tool and not a substitute for watching a position, and it is not designed for any use where a failure could lead to injury or death. Do not open, hold or size a position on the assumption that a wake will reach you. Keeping your own safeguards — stop orders placed with your broker, a second alarm, or whatever suits your trading — is your responsibility. Do not rely on the app as your only protection against a loss.

06 Fair use and indemnity

Use the app to wake yourself. Do not use it to break the law, send alerts to someone else’s webhook, probe or overload our server, or copy, resell or reverse-engineer the app except where the law allows it. We may limit alerts that arrive far faster than a wake needs.

If someone else brings a claim against us because you used the app unlawfully, broke these terms, or shared your webhook URL, you agree to indemnify us — to cover our reasonable costs and losses from that claim — to the extent the law allows. This does not apply to the extent the claim was caused by our own negligence, misconduct or breach of these terms.

You confirm that you are not in a country or region under a United States Government embargo or designated by it as “terrorist supporting”, and are not on any United States Government list of prohibited or restricted parties.

07 No warranty

TO THE FULLEST EXTENT THE LAW ALLOWS, THE APP IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE”, WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS, IMPLIED OR STATUTORY — INCLUDING IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE APP WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, TIMELY, SECURE OR FREE OF ERRORS, THAT WHAT IT SHOWS WILL BE ACCURATE OR RELIABLE, OR THAT ANY WAKE OR ALERT WILL BE DELIVERED.

08 Limit of liability

TO THE FULLEST EXTENT THE LAW ALLOWS:

  • WE ARE NOT LIABLE FOR TRADING LOSSES, LOST PROFITS, LOST OPPORTUNITIES, LOST DATA, OR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES — HOWEVER THEY ARISE, INCLUDING FROM A WAKE OR ALERT THAT WAS MISSED, LATE OR WRONG, AND EVEN IF WE WERE TOLD SUCH A LOSS WAS POSSIBLE.
  • THE MOST WE OWE YOU, FOR ALL CLAIMS ABOUT THE APP TOGETHER, IS WHAT YOU PAID US FOR THE SUBSCRIPTION IN THE 12 MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM AROSE, OR US$50 IF THAT IS MORE.

These limits apply to every kind of claim — contract, negligence or otherwise. They do not limit liability that the law does not allow to be limited, such as for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.

09 Your consumer rights

Some countries and states give consumers rights that a contract cannot take away, and nothing in these terms removes them. In Australia and New Zealand in particular, the app comes with guarantees under the Australian Consumer Law and the Consumer Guarantees Act that cannot be excluded. Where the law lets us limit our responsibility under those guarantees, it is limited to supplying the service again or paying the cost of having it supplied again.

10 Ending

You can stop at any time: delete your account in the app (Account → Delete Account & All Data) and cancel any subscription with your app store. Your licence to use the app ends automatically if you break these terms, and we may suspend or end access for an account that does. We may also change or stop offering the app; if we stop while you have a paid subscription, we will give reasonable notice where we can. The indemnity in section 6 and sections 7, 8, 9, 11 and 12 continue to apply after these terms end.

11 The app stores and other companies

These terms are between you and us, not Apple or Google. We alone are responsible for the app, its content, and its maintenance and support; Apple and Google have no obligation to provide either, and are not liable for claims about the app. For support, write to the address under Contact.

Your use of the app must also follow the terms of the store you got it from, and the terms of the other services you use with it — your trading platform and your network provider among them.

If you got the app from Apple’s App Store: your licence is to use the app on Apple devices you own or control, as the Usage Rules in the Apple Media Services Terms and Conditions allow. If the app fails to conform to a warranty that applies to it, you may tell Apple, and Apple will refund the price you paid for it; to the fullest extent the law allows, Apple has no other warranty obligation for the app. We, not Apple, are responsible for any claim about the app or your use of it — including product liability, a claim that the app does not meet a legal or regulatory requirement, and claims under consumer protection or privacy law — and for investigating, defending and settling any claim that the app infringes someone’s intellectual property rights. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms and may enforce them against you. Apple’s standard licence for apps (its Licensed Application End User License Agreement) also applies to your use of the app. Where it and these terms say different things, these terms apply, unless the law where you live does not allow that.

TradingView, TrendSpider and other product names are trademarks of their owners, named here only to say what the app works with. We are not affiliated with, sponsored by or endorsed by any of them.

12 Disputes and governing law

Talk to us first. If you have a complaint, write to us at the address under Contact and give us 30 days to put it right before starting a formal claim; we will do the same for you.

Governing law and courts. These terms are governed by the laws of Washington State, USA. A dispute will be heard in the state or federal courts located there, or in a small claims court if the claim qualifies. The United Nations Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods does not apply. If part of these terms cannot be enforced, the rest stays in effect. These terms and the Privacy Policy, together with Apple’s standard licence where section 11 says it applies, are the whole agreement between you and us about the app. If we do not enforce a part of these terms, we can still enforce it later. We may transfer these terms to a company that takes over the app; you may not transfer them.

Your local consumer law still applies. Nothing in this section removes a right that the consumer law of the place you live gives you and does not allow a contract to take away, including a right to its law, its courts, a class action or a longer time to bring a claim. Where that is so, the part of this section that conflicts with it does not apply to you.

13 Changes

If these terms change, the date at the top of this page changes with them. For a material change we will give at least 30 days’ notice, in the app or its release notes, before it takes effect. If you do not accept a change, you may stop using the app and cancel your subscription before then. Continuing to use the app after a change takes effect means you accept the new terms.
